Today I will be Sharing iOS 16 Features that should be included in the Apple iOS 16. iOS 16 is expected to be released in 2022. I am pretty sure that Apple will include tons of new features. But there are a few features that should be changed or included in iOS 16. Let’s get started.

Home Screen Redesign:

So the first thing is a home screen redesigned and I believe every iPhone user wants this because it’s been years and we are still going with the same old design. I know iOS 15 did some changes and added some enhancements but that is not enough.

So there are multiple different facets and I don’t just mean the icons and the widgets. I mean home screen, everything we see here including the status bar. There is so much space here, I think they should add battery percentage as we had in the old days.

There’s plenty of room up there, especially on the max bones, even if Apple had to make it exclusive for the Max models. We should have the options to put battery percentage on the status bar. Then I think Apple should allow us to toggle up the status bar icons.

For example, we didn’t want our Focus mode showing up right there and left, we should be able to turn that off and we don’t want it to be on. And then we can also hide the signal bars, so we can have more space. So I think Apple can make a lot of tweaks to the status bar menu, more customizable.

I think Apple needs to be more interactive with widgets. I mean we should be able to do a lot more through widgets instead of opening the app. The default widgets just show us the information and they don’t do anything else. Of course, that’s expected. We expected that in iOS 15 but maybe we will see that with iOS the 16.

Then I think like Android Apple should allow us to move the apps and widgets the way we want. Some people will say that this feature will make a mess. But on the other hand, there will be users who want that. What If I set a wallpaper and I wanted it to be on the home screen but not covered in apps. That way I can all see the complete wallpapers instead of half.

Lock Screen:

So I would like to see, Of course, number one is always on display. This is possible with the iPhone, 13, Pros variable refresh rates. We can have a 1 Hertz always-on display and it is possible, and I would like to see Apple implement that because it will not drain the battery. Since we can go all the way down to 1Hertz. So I would like to see an always-on display with iOS 16.

iOS 16 Features

Also, I would like to see the toggle down here be changed from the flashlight and cameras to something else. I think the camera one is probably the most useless thing on the lock screen. I mean, you can press that to get the camera app or it just slides over to get to the camera, why there should be two different ways to get to the camera. It’s never made sense to me. So we should be able to toggle these out and, you know, have whatever application we want.

Maybe if I tap this and it takes me to Instagram and if I tap this one, it takes me to Safari something like that, which would be able to change what those toggles on the lock screen do.

Then I do also think that we should have more UI elements as we have with the iOS 15.2 notifications summary. So it just looks so much more full. It’s so much more modern.

Control Center:

I also think that we could benefit from some changes to the control center. So first off, let me just say that I’d like to Control Center the way it is. Yes. I think it’s a little bit clogged up. You know, there’s a lot going on here, especially when you had your home kit devices right here, but I think we could do with an option to remove certain sections, like for example, if I didn’t want maybe certain section like for e.g Focus, Portrait Lock and SCreen mirror, right here all three of these.

iOS 16 Features

If I didn’t want them at all. I should be able to go ahead and configure that just like I can for the control center toggles. Like I go into my settings here and then go to the control center. Maybe I should have something right here that says show home controls. I can’t hide that. Why can’t I hide these elements right here?

We should be able to hide any of these elements in the control center. I think that would be cool to see. And iOS is 16. I also think that we need the option to be able to permanently, turn off Wi-Fi, not just until tomorrow and the same with the Bluetooth of course. We should have the option to permanently turn those off known until just the next day.

Ringtones:

I would also love to see new ringtones and notification sounds. So this is not something like wallpapers, for we get a new ring tone or text tone every single year. Although, I wish we did. I think that a lot of people, you know, myself included, I keep the phone on silent.

iOS 16 Features

So I don’t really care about this, but I’ve seen so many of you guys want new ringtones and text tones every once in a while. It might be nice to have your ringer on and whatever your ring tone is. So I think We should get new ringtones and text tones with iOS 16.

Music:

When we go into the music application. If you’re in a playlist and you’re playing songs and you have it on the shelf or you’re going through all your songs in there. You should be able to remove a song from the playlist from the now playing screen right here.

So when I tap on these three dots and I’m playing music from a playlist. There should be an option here that says removed from a playlist. Right now I have to go to the music app and then from there, I have to search and delete the song.

iOS 16 Features

I would like to be able to just go through them all. And then, once I get someone that I don’t like anymore, I’m tired of, I can go ahead and remove it from the playlist, straight from the now playing screen. And then, speaking of Music, we should also be able to set Spotify and Pandora any other music service as the default music player. Now, I’m aware, they can do this via Siri, but it’s still very, very wonky. We should have something inside of settings that allows us to change the default application.

And really, I think that we should be able to set, default applications for anything, including messages, phone, FaceTime everything. We should be able to have the option to set that.

Why Cant I See Repair History On My iPhone? How to Find Repair History – iOS 15.2

Notification Center:

Well, as I was looking at my notification center, I came across something else. I think should be changed with iOS 16. And that is the option to disable shortcuts notifications. So, every single time, my shortcut runs in the morning. I did this notification telling me that my automation ran, but I don’t need that. It’s a shortcut, it runs every day.

blank

To get that notification every day. But as you guys know you cannot disable shortcuts notifications. Now, there is a workaround, there is a way to do it, but it’s not native and it’s not meant to be done. So Apple needs to give us the option to be able to disable shortcuts notifications.

Offline Maps:

Now, another thing I would like to see added in iOS 16 and is Offline Maps, and offline navigation. Right. Now. This is something you would take a lot of data with a lot of data on the device. But I think this is necessary, which at least have the option to do this. And so with iOS 15, Apple made Siri able to access offline maps.

blank

We should be able to, at least access and see the map when we are in airplane mode or offline. I think that would be beneficial and multiple different scenarios.

Messages:

Now, messages is another application. I think we could see a lot of improvements with iOS 16. The first thing that I found myself frustrated with all the time is searching. So messages searching within messages is a mess. You cannot use quotation marks. It’s very hard to search for specific things that you want to be my experience. And I wish we could. Individual threads.

blank

I also wish that we could lock individual threads and messages. Like, for example, if I swipe over it, be cool if we had a little toggle there to lock one thread only with a passcode or face ID. I think that would be really cool and we should also be able to do that with applications. So this is another one that has been long-awaited. A lot of people have talked about wanting this for iOS for many years. Now, it’s exists in the jailbreak world, but it would be cool if Apple brought over the ability to lock applications with a passcode or face ID.

I think it would also be cool we can use a passcode or base ID to shut down the phone, because of course, if somebody steals your phone, they’re probably going to turn it off.

By adding this feature it won’t be possible for anyone to turn off your device.

Smart Auto Rotate:

Now, one really cool thing the Android just got and I wish Apple brings it to iOS 16. That is auto-rotate using the front camera instead of the accelerometer. So the iPhone uses the accelerometer to change the orientation right. In iPhone If tilt my face and watch something, you will see, it changes to landscape mode. But if you use the front camera and detect your face, it will not turn to that mode, unless your head is tilting.

But if we use the front camera, instead of the accelerometer that orientation would not change, because it would detect that my face and choose the best position. So that’s something, I hope Apple brings that to iOS 16 using the front-facing camera instead of the accelerometer to change the orientation.

Battery Health:

Now something else that absolutely needs to be changed in iOS 16. Is the inside of our settings, battery health, and maximum capacity. I think it should be on the home screen rather than hidden up in the settings. What If somebody doesn’t see that and when they do they’re going to panic. I have seen it myself, people are complaining about the battery health gown down.

blank

It would be better if it is in open and everybody knows the health of their battery and how things are going. Not all of us are pro when it comes to these technicalities, a layman will be freaked out when he/she will see the battery health going down.

The first thing that will come into their mind is that something is wrong and that the device has some issues. So I believe this setting should be changed for good, they have to know what is the status of their battery, should they change it or not.

Split-Screen Multitasking:

This one thing we haven’t got on iOS is split-screen multitasking. So we got drag and drop in iOS 15.

blank

We can drag and drop around iOS which is a big step forward but we don’t have split-screen multitasking. Even on the big 6.7 inches, iPhone 13 Pro Max. We don’t have the ability to split-screen Multitask.

You know, we cannot turn our phone into landscape right here and have two different applications one on each side, but we should be able to. I mean, this is a 6.7-inch display. We’re able to drag And drop.

We have the power. I don’t see why we should not be able to multitask and have two different applications open at the same time interacting with both at the same time. So hopefully iOS 16, it solves that and we get it even if it’s only just for Pro models, that’s fine.

So that’s all for today and These were my iOS 16 Features Wishlist. I hope to see one of them in iOS 16. Please do let me know in the comments, what you think should be included in iOS 16.
